OBSESS : ARABIC HORROR IS COMING TO NETFLIX 30 OCTOBER !
Halloween week just got darker. Obsess, Netflix’s new Kuwaiti psychological horror series, arrives on 30 October, and Fox & Wizard is proud to have been part of it.
Produced by Shasha of Kuwait as a Netflix Original, Obsess is set in 1970s Kuwait and directed by Said El Marouk from a script by Eyad Saleh. Shasha also developed the story, and it’s the company’s biggest production yet. A homegrown horror series, made in Kuwait and now streaming to the world, is a milestone for Kuwaiti storytelling.
Fox & Wizard acted as visual effects supervision and management on the series, which was filmed on location in Kuwait. Our VFX Supervisor, Jonathan Alenskas, and our VFX Producer, Corlia Ohlson de Fine, partnered with Netflix and Shasha from the early planning stages through to final delivery, guiding the show’s visual effects from Cape Town to the Gulf. Horror lives in what you almost see, so keeping every frame immersive and unsettling was a challenge we loved.
